**JLIB - STUDENT DISMISSAL PRECAUTIONS** **Last Updated Date:** 05/27/2014 **Adoption Date:** 01/10/2006 Any student who is on the school grounds within thirty minutes of the start of school is under the jurisdiction of the South Hadley School Department Rules and Regulations. He/she is considered to be present at school and cannot leave without going through the dismissal procedure. A student may be dismissed by the principal, assistant principal, or school nurse upon presentation of a valid signed note from a parent or guardian. A student who is to be dismissed during the school day for emergency reasons also must see the nurse, assistant principal or principal. In the case of any student under 18 years or age, the parent or guardian must be contacted before the student is dismissed from school.
