**JLD - HIGH SCHOOL GUIDANCE PROGRAM** **Last Updated Date:** 05/27/2014 **Adoption Date:** 01/10/2006 A guidance counselor will be assigned to each student to assist in the development of a meaningful high school program, to explore interests and abilities, and to develop educational and career plans. Services by the guidance department are available in the following areas: Information:    Group orientations, conferences, reference material about careers, colleges, and job and training opportunities. Placement:       Assisting each student to make the transition from one level of school to another, from high school to higher education, and from high school to vocation. Evaluation:      Thorough review of each student's areas of strength and weakness as shown by test results, academic and activities record, and teacher observations. Personal/          Each student has needs outside of the academic and occupational categories which Social              require attention.
