Discipline shall not include corporal punishment. Nothing in this policy shall be interpreted as preventing a teacher or other employee or agent of the School Committee from using minimal physical force in the following situations: to protect himself or herself from assault by a student, to protect other students and staff members from the violent or aggressive acts of a student, or to prevent a student from harming himself or herself. **Policy References:** LEGAL REF.: 71:37G
