All parents and students shall be provided with written information regarding bus routes, stops, times for departure/arrival, and the bus behavior code each year prior to the start of school.
Good safety practices and appropriate conduct must be demonstrated by all children riding buses.
Infractions of the rules for children riding buses will be reported to the principal.
Bus drivers are expected to issue citations for all infractions of bus rules. The imposition of discipline is the responsibility of the school principal. Depending on the nature of the infraction, the principal may use administrative discretion to determine the appropriate consequence for an offense.
State laws do not require transportation if a child's conduct jeopardizes the health and safety of others. In case of suspension or termination of bus privileges, the parent is responsible for the child's transportation to and from school. Failure to do so could result in legal proceedings in accordance with the attendance statutes of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
