**JIC-R-1 - STUDENT CONDUCT – JURISDICTION OF THE SCHOOL** **Last Updated Date:** 05/27/2014 **Adoption Date:** 01/10/2006 Students are considered under the jurisdiction of the school . . . 1.   If on the school grounds or within the school from fifteen minutes before the first class until fifteen minutes after the end of the last class in elementary schools and until thirty minutes after the last class in secondary schools. 2.   Before or after the time period specified above, if under the direct supervision of a teacher or administrator (i.e., club activity or special help session). 3.   While riding on a school bus to and from school. 4.   While riding on a school bus or charter bus secured by the school or an approved school organization for travel to and from a school-approved activity. 5.   While a participant and spectator at school-sponsored activities in South Hadley. 6.   While a participant (not a spectator) at a school-sponsored practice session or activity outside of South Hadley. (This includes members of teams, school music groups, school dramatics groups and cheerleaders.) Students using the school grounds at times other than those specified above, must abide by all laws and regulations to which other persons using the school grounds are subject. As spectators at school-sponsored activities, students must abide by all laws and regulations to which other spectators at the host institution are subject.
