High School
The South Hadley Public Schools holds student achievement as the primary goal of our school system. Consistent with this aim, the School Committee emphasizes the importance of personally and publicly recognizing those students who excel in their academic pursuits by establishing the South Hadley High School honor roll.
The School Committee directs the administration to recognize students’ achievement at the conclusion of each quarterly marking period. Students who received a grade of A (93% or higher) in all courses shall be designated as having earned High Honors. Students who earned any combination of A’s and B’s (83% or higher) in their course work shall be recognized with Honors.
Eligibility for the honor roll will include all grades from all subjects. Students must take the minimum course requirements as stated in the course of studies booklet.
Parents and students shall be informed of the eligibility criteria and publication of the honor roll through the middle and high school student handbooks and the high school course of studies booklet. A waiver form shall be sent to each parent/guardian/student to allow the removal of a student’s name from the publication of the honor roll if desired.
The superintendent shall develop any necessary rules and regulations to implement this policy, consistent with the intent of the School Committee.
