**EE-R - STUDENT TRANSPORTATION/PARKING FEE** Adoption Date: January 10, 2006 Re-adoption Date: February 25, 2014 Revision History: 5/19/2022; 5/1/2025 FEES 1. 7-8 students living farther than two miles from school may purchase a bus pass, which will entitle them to ride the bus to and from home. The rate of the bus pass will be established by the School Committee. 2. High school students wishing to purchase a bus pass, which will entitle them to ride the bus to and from home, may purchase a bus pass at the rate established by the School Committee. 3. High school students wishing to purchase an automobile parking pass, which will entitle them to park a car in a school parking lot, may purchase a parking pass at the rate established by the School Committee. 4. High school students wishing to purchase a “combination pass”, which will entitle them to the benefits of both 1. and 2. above, may purchase a combination pass at the rate established by the School Committee. 5. High School students attending an approved vocational or private school are entitled to the same transportation privileges as South Hadley Public School students. These students may purchase a bus pass, which will entitle them a ride to and from home. The rate of the bus pass will be established by the School Committee. 6. No student will be required to pay more than one bus transportation fee in any school year. 7. All fees must be paid before a pass is issued. Payment must be by check or money order. REDUCED RATES 1. Any student eligible for reduced price lunch will be able to receive a pass at a reduced rate as established by the School Committee. 2. Any student eligible for a free lunch will be granted a waiver of the transportation fee and will be able to receive a pass without any charge. 3. Any student eligible for a free or reduced-price lunch will be charged a reduced rate for a parking or combination pass. 4. To be eligible for the waiver, the family must complete and submit to the high school principal a Free/Reduced School Lunch application and meet the eligibility criteria used in that program. REFUNDS 1. There will be no refunds of these fees unless the student transfers out of the district, at which time a pro-rated refund will be issued.
