**DIBB - FOOD SERVICES REVOLVING ACCOUNT**
**Last Updated Date:** 02/25/2014
**Adoption Date:** 01/10/2006
The Food Services Revolving Account will retain funds collected during the year from cash sales, state and federal aid, catering of school events and other revenues received by the Food Services Department.
Based upon the recommendations of the food services director, the superintendent will prepare an annual budget for the operation of the food services program. The budget will include all anticipated expenses for the next fiscal year. The budget will project revenues for the next fiscal year and show the amounts to be taken from the local School Committee appropriation if necessary, with the goal of the program to be financially self-sustaining.
The proposed budget should maintain a balance in the revolving account sufficient to operate the program for six weeks.
Subject to the approval of the superintendent, the food services director may draw additional funds from the revolving account to meet unanticipated needs that arise during the school year. Such expenditures will not exceed $10,000 per year, without the approval of the School Committee.
