**BEDBA - AGENDA PREPARATION AND DISSEMINATION**
**Last Updated Date:** 11/26/2013
**Adoption Date:** 01/10/2006
The superintendent, working with the chairperson and whenever possible the vice-chairperson of the School Committee, has the responsibility of planning the agenda and gathering all background material which pertains to items to be considered by the Committee. (It should be recognized that for some matters it is necessary for the superintendent and professional staff to have time to investigate and prepare materials. Adequate time should be provided for this.)
Written or e-mailed requests for placement of items on the agenda for a scheduled meeting of the School Committee must be in the superintendent's office by noon one week prior to the scheduled meeting. If the superintendent or chairperson is not willing to place a requested item on the agenda, the item may subsequently be added by a vote of three or more Committee members.
The agenda for a regular scheduled meeting, including suggested resolutions, reports and other supporting information, will be mailed or delivered so that School Committee members will receive the material 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
