**BDA - SCHOOL COMMITTEE ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING**

The annual meeting for organization will be the first duly posted meeting following the annual town election. Notice of the meeting is filed with the town clerk and is posted on the official town bulletin board at least forty‑eight hours before the meeting, not including Sundays and legal holidays.
The initial item of business at the meeting for organization will be the election of the following officers for the coming year: Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary.
The superintendent will conduct the meeting and record the minutes until the election of the new chairperson. Following his or her election, the chairperson assumes responsibility for conducting the remaining election.
A majority of the votes of the members entitled to vote shall be necessary to all elections. The vote shall be by voice or roll call vote and no secret or written ballot shall be used.
After the election of officers, the Committee can proceed to other items on the agenda.
